Since she started dating her now-husband, Travis Kelce, global pop star Taylor Swift has been spotted cheering him on at Kansas City Chiefs games. However, the “Patient Zero” singer is reportedly skipping the team’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, October 18.

According to Hollywood gossip columnist Rob Shuter, Swift is reportedly ramping up her efforts to win her first Oscar for her Toy Story 5 track, “I Knew It, I Knew You.”

“Taylor has Grammys, sold-out stadiums and billions of dollars. But there’s one thing missing from her trophy cabinet — an Oscar,” an industry source told Naughty But Nice. “And she wants one badly.”

On Saturday, October 17, Swift will perform at the annual star-studded Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles—and co-chair Steven Spielberg is allegedly eager to help Swift score an Academy Award.

“Steven opens doors that even Taylor can’t open herself,” the insider explained. “This isn’t just another performance. It’s a chance to impress the people who actually vote for Oscars.”

With the gala in LA and the Chiefs game set for 4:25 p.m. ET the next day in Kansas City, Swift is unlikely to appear at the stadium. But she does own a private jet, so she could always hop on a flight after the gala if she wants to support Kelce in person.

Still, the “Cleveland!” singer has an illustrious career herself, and it seems she’s ready to kick her Oscar campaign into overdrive. “Taylor loves cheering for Travis, but this weekend is about Taylor,” the source said. “He has his career. She has hers. And right now, hers involves winning an Oscar.”

They continued, “Taylor isn’t going to this gala just to sing. She’s going to make sure Hollywood takes her seriously.”

Swift’s reported absence from the Chiefs game follows a report indicating that she’s actually extremely “frustrated” in her marriage to Kelce. As it turns out, the newlyweds haven’t seen each other much since their July 2026 wedding in New York City.

“It’s harder now that they are married because she wants more, for sure. It is understandable,” the source noted. “She misses their morning workout sessions and cooking together. She loves having her hunky man by her side, holding her hand and opening doors for her, watching out for her. He makes her feel not just loved, but also protected. She is so madly in love that she wants to spend more time with Travis.”

Nevertheless, the “Love Story” singer “understands he is putting in the hours because he wants to be his very best this season,” and she refuses to hold him back.

“She refuses to complain about his absence because she knew what she signed up for, she knew he would be at practice after they got married,” the insider shared. “She knew the honeymoon would be short so she can’t complain at all, and she doesn’t want to guilt Travis. That is not her deal, she never shames or complains. She wants to support him so he can do his best this season.”

Despite their time apart, Kelce and Swift always carve out time for each other. “They talk on the phone all the time, and text, FaceTime, all of it. He sends her flowers when she is out of town, her favorites like roses and orchids,” the insider stated. “They just deal with it. They know they both have massive careers, and they love what they do, so they give each other freedom.”
