Bernie Sanders wants to tax america’s 938 billionaires 5% per year and use the $4.4 trillion to send every family a $12,000 check, raise teacher pay, and expand medicare. Do you agree with Bernie Sanders?
U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders is once again pushing a bold plan aimed at tackling wealth inequality in America.
Sanders is proposing a 5% annual tax on America’s 938 billionaires, a move he says could generate about $4.4 trillion in revenue over the next decade.
According to Sanders, that money could be used to:
• Send $12,000 checks to American families
• Raise teacher salaries across the country
• Expand Medicare to cover more healthcare needs
• Strengthen the social safety net for millions of Americans
Sanders argues that while many Americans struggle with rising costs of living, the ultra-wealthy continue to accumulate enormous fortunes.
Critics, however, say such a tax could discourage investment and push billionaires to move their wealth overseas.
Supporters believe it’s a long-overdue step to rebalance the economy and invest in working families.
💬 What do you think?
Should billionaires pay a 5% annual wealth tax to help fund programs like these?
👍 Yes — it’s time the ultra-rich paid more
