Travis Kelce supported Taylor Swift from afar last night.

While the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, had to miss the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards to help his team defeat the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 27, he celebrated his superstar wife as she made history.

Swift, also 36, took home three awards at the ceremony: Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia,” Best Direction for “Opalite” and the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors. Her victories broke her 30-win tie with Beyoncé to become the most-awarded artist in VMA history.

While the Chiefs star was in Miami for the game and Swift was in Los Angeles for the award show, the tight end still enjoyed the VMAs content he was fed on his social media feed, liking several posts of Swift on Instagram.

Kelce liked a post shared by Good Morning America, which captioned a clip of Swift on the step and repeat: “The queen has arrived! Taylor Swift glides down the #vmas carpet where she’s receiving the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors.”

The three-time Super Bowl winner also liked an Instagram carousel posted by Billboard, which included a roundup of photos of Swift posing on the red carpet in her sparkly silver and black dress before heading into the ceremony.

Swift’s appearance marked her first return to the MTV VMAs since 2024. It also marked her first time at the award show since tying the knot with Kelce, who she wed in a star-studded ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.

While she accessorized with several striking sparklers, it’s only natural Swifties’ eyes were drawn to the new jewelry that she’s been rocking since the wedding: her wedding band that nestles perfectly with her old mine cut diamond engagement ring by Kindred Lubeck.

Swift also wore dramatic, diamond dangle earrings by Leviev that sparkled through her straight, shoulder-length hair. In addition to her massive rock and wedding band, she accessorized with an Etho Maria diamond ring.

For her outfit, the 14-time Grammy winner embodied her “Patient Zero” music video in a sexy Tamara Ralph Couture gown with a black mock-neck bodice with sheer panels on the sides. The top gave way to a sparkling silver skirt, which sat asymmetrically on her hips.

It was a winning night for Kelce, too. The tight end, along with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the team, defeated the Miami Dolphins 24-10 on the road, securing their third-straight victory this season.

Mahomes completed 20 of 24 passes for 246 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, while Kelce caught two passes for 59 yards and one touchdown.

Leading the Chiefs to an undefeated start is especially significant for Mahomes, who returned to action earlier this month after sustaining a torn ACL last December.

Kelce, who is in his 14th season, has also gotten off to a strong start. In Week 1, the tight end moved into second place all-time in receiving yards for an NFL tight end. The following week, he broke the NFL all-time record for most yards after a catch.
