Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has given fans renewed confidence about Patrick Mahomes’ recovery, saying he fully expects the superstar quarterback to be ready for the start of the 2026 NFL season.
Speaking during the NFL Annual League Meeting, Reid praised Mahomes’ relentless commitment to rehabilitation after suffering a devastating torn ACL and LCL in his left knee late in the 2025 season.
“I would never bet against Patrick Mahomes,” Reid said, expressing strong confidence that his franchise quarterback will be under center for Week 1.

According to Reid, Mahomes has been dedicating up to seven hours a day at the Chiefs’ training facility, working closely with the team’s medical and athletic staff. His rehabilitation program has focused on rebuilding strength, flexibility, mobility, and overall conditioning.
