Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., is reportedly living in a Florida nursing home amid an investigation into allegations that child sexual abuse material was found among his belongings in the Philippines.

Thomas Sr., 82, was previously staying at a luxury rehabilitation facility in Florida after undergoing a leg amputation in December 2025, but was recently asked to leave the facility following news of the allegations, involving child pornography possession and child sexual abuse, against him, according to a report published by The Sun on Friday, Oct. 30.

His reported relocation comes as authorities in the Philippines investigate allegations that his son, Thomas Markle Jr., discovered child sexual abuse material among items left behind by his father at a residence in Cebu, where the pair previously lived.

The investigation was confirmed by Philippine Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Ty, who told Reuters that the country’s anti-trafficking and online child sexual abuse task force was investigating the matter.

The Philippines National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Thomas Sr., a former Hollywood lighting director, moved to the Southeast Asian country after experiencing a series of health problems, including strokes. He underwent an emergency amputation of his left leg in the Philippines following a serious blood clot in December 2025 and subsequently returned to the United States for medical treatment and rehabilitation.

Thomas Sr. had been receiving care at a Florida rehabilitation facility while learning to walk with a prosthetic limb when the news of his alleged crimes broke, according to The Sun.

The location of his new Florida facility has not been made public.

Thomas has denied the allegations against him, describing them as “lies,” according to the Daily Mail.

“I’m shocked, I’m hurt and I’m very upset that my son is making these accusations against me. I could never do what I’m being accused of. It’s the worst thing anyone could accuse me of,” he reportedly told the outlet.

“This is bulls—,” he added, per the Mail. “It’s just a bunch of lies. It’s sick. I have no idea why Tom is trying to destroy me with these lies.”
