Kim Kardashian was ‘so mad’ when Paris Hilton refused to be interviewed for new biography… as author hints at ‘ancient irritation’ between them
Kim Kardashian was angry at her on-off friend Paris Hilton’s refusal to be interviewed for her new biography, it has been revealed.
Over five years, Jonathan Van Meter penned Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future – with 46-year-old Kardashian’s consent – to be published on October 27.
Amid his writing process, Van Meter planned to discuss Kardashian with 45-year-old Hilton, who has known the mogul since childhood and hired her as an assistant in the early aughts.
However, the heiress reportedly cancelled their interview multiple times, allegedly leaving Kardashian very upset.
‘Kim was so mad when I told her. It seemed to stir up some ancient irritation between them. The creation turning on the creator,’ Van Meter told The Hollywood Reporter.
He detailed, ‘I sent questions, connected with Paris’ assistant, and then the interview was canceled 17 times over about four months. Eventually I thought the cancellations were more interesting than whatever she’d tell me.’

Van Meter said Hilton emerged as a potential reference ‘late in the process’ of writing the biography.
‘Late in the process, I told Kim I should talk to her,’ he shared. ‘Kim checked and said Paris agreed, but I had to go through her publicist. That was unusual: With everybody else, Kim just sent a text.’
