President Trump and first lady Melania stood in silence at 9:37 am to mark the moment American Airlines flight 77 struck the Pentagon. A bugle played “Taps.”

Twenty-five years later, we never forget.

Americans in New York City and across the nation are gathering Friday to remember the 2,977 people killed and thousands more injured in the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Families of those killed when hijackers crashed a pair of planes into the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan began reading the victims’ names aloud at the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero at 8:30 a.m., as is tradition during the annual ceremony, stopping for a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. — the exact time American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower.

Later, President Trump will deliver remarks at the Pentagon.

And the Yankees and Mets will kick off the first of their three-game Subway Series at 6:30 p.m. in the Bronx with special tributes honoring 9/11 first responders and those lost in the attacks that changed America forever.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani shook hands at Ground Zero ahead of the annual remembrance ceremony.

The cordial greeting comes just days after Giuliani — who led the Big Apple during Sept. 11, 2001 — called on Mamdani to skip the memorial service marking the 25th anniversary of the attacks, claiming Mamdani “doesn’t agree that September 11 was an Islamic terrorist attack on the United States of America.”

“No question,” he said during an interview with Newsmax on Sunday, saying that the notion of Mamdani attending the memorials “offends me.

“The reality is this ceremony is for the families and for America to remember historically.”
