👀 TAYLOR SWIFT’S REACTION SAYS IT ALL! Jason Kelce Woke Travis With an Early-Morning Request That Taylor Called “F—ed Up” — But What Exactly Happened Behind the Scenes? Click the First Comment for the Full Story!
On the latest episode of their shared podcast “New Heights,” Travis Kelce recalled a time when his older brother Jason Kelce woke him up with an early morning phone call that left Travis’s wife Taylor Swift a little bit annoyed.
On the October 21 episode of the show, Travis said that Swift found the call “fucked up,” while Travis found it funny. The call came in at 7:30 a.m. from Jason, who was taking part in a challenge called “Squatober,” which Bleacher Report described as a “themed-exercise program that takes place throughout the month of October.” The challenge “encourages people to do squat-based activities five days per week throughout the entire month,” the outlet added.
“I knew Jason was doing Squatober,” Travis explained. “He actually asked me how much weight I have in my basement. I didn’t even add it up. I just told him how many weights I had. And he was like, ‘Oh, okay, cool, I’ll bring some.’ So he flew to Kansas City with—what was it, 50 pounds?” At this, Jason confirmed that he flew to see Travis in Kansas City, Missouri, with two 25-pound weights.
“A couple extra plates to throw on the old squat bar,” Travis added. “Absolutely hilarious, the most meathead thing I think I’ve ever seen Jason do.”
When Jason’s 7:30 a.m. call came, “In my mind, I’m thinking worst-case scenario,” Travis said. “I’m like, ‘Oh shit. Is everything okay?’” Travis, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, wondered if maybe his brother needed to go to the hospital, thinking, “he blew his knee out or something,” Travis continued. “I don’t know, I was worst-case scenario, the brain was just waking up. I was like, ‘Uh, you okay?’”
Jason was fine—and calling to ask his younger brother to come spot him. To this, Travis said, “No way!” as he cracked up laughing. “I got my ankle wrap. And he’s like, ‘Nah, nah, it’s bench, it’s bench. It’s not squat.’ And I’m like, ‘Cool, ‘cause I wouldn’t be able to save you if it was a fucking back squat.’ I’m like, ‘Cool, I’ll come down.’”
Swift, however, was less than impressed. “I’m walking out of the room, and Taylor’s like, ‘This is fucked up,’” Travis recalled. “And I’m just like, ‘Nah, it’ll be good. It’ll be good!’” At this, both Kelce brothers started laughing.
While the Grammy winner might have been aggravated at the moment with her new brother-in-law, there’s no bad blood between the two. Jason has been effusive in his praise for the singer, telling the NFL Network in February 2024 that he was “fortunate” to have met her.
“She’s [an] awesome, down-to-earth, genuine person,” Jason said (per Us), noting that Swift’s personality is “great to see,” especially when “somebody of that caliber of stardom still remain[s] as grounded as they are.”
“She’s been nothing but lovely to our family,” Jason later said in a November 2024 interview on The Rich Eisen Show. “She’s a wonderful person.”
The affection goes both ways. After Swift met Jason—a former center for the Philadelphia Eagles—Travis said on the podcast (per Us) that she was a big fan of his brother. “Tay absolutely loved you,” he confirmed. Except when he calls too early in the morning, it seems.
