Taylor Swift explains the inspiration behind ‘Cleveland!’
Swift took to Instagram to explain the story behind the song, writing, “About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history.”

“I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album. Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs.”

The song was released alongside a music video in which the newly married couple is seen driving toward Cleveland, while Swift’s voice plays in the background, praising the city and expressing her love.

Lyrics like “There, that house with the porch is where he lived as a kid / He’s been saying forever,” highlight Swift’s feelings for Travis and her connection to the city where he grew up.

The Kelce brothers’ comments came as Swift’s latest track continued to draw attention following its release. Travis and Jason’s enthusiastic response added another personal connection to a song that directly references Travis’ hometown and the couple’s relationship.
