Travis Kelce‘s birthday may have been a low-key affair, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t sweet!
The 37-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end opened up about ringing in his special day with his wife, Taylor Swift, in New York City.
“It feels nice because I had a lot of people reach out and say ‘happy birthday,’ ” Travis shared on the Wednesday, Oct. 7 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce‘s New Heights podcast. “And, yeah, it was a good day. It was a fun day. Got some food out here in New York. Went to one of my favorite spots — Torrisi. Got to hang with Tay.”
However, there was one element that made his birthday perfect.
“And the best news that I got on my birthday was that we got a victory,” Travis said, referencing the Chiefs’ win against the Las Vegas Raiders the day before. “That was the happiness I had around my birthday. I got the win going into the bye [week] and we’re 4 and 0.”
Jason, who retired from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, asked if losing would have “ruined” Travis’ birthday.
“Losing ruins everyone’s life. Yes,” Travis said. “That’s the f—ing worst thing to ever go down. So if I would have lost, it would have ruined my birthday for sure.”
Despite this declaration, Travis noted that he’s “not a big birthday guy,” sharing that he did not even get a birthday cake.
“No, but Torrisi’s got some good desserts,” he said. “They brought out the entire arsenal. They got some good yogurt. They got an espresso shaved icing with ice cream and chocolate underneath. It was weird. It was nice though.”
When Jason pressed Travis for any additional details on his birthday, including presents and celebrations, Travis replied with a laugh and said, “No, I would love to just keep it moving.”
After a strong start to the 2026 season, the Chiefs have a bye week this week before returning to the field to take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 18.
“I’m just gonna be working out,” Travis said of his time off, adding that he’ll also be watching some October playoff baseball as well as college and professional football.
“To be 4 and 0 going into the bye was one of the challenges that we set for ourselves,” Travis said of the Chiefs’ record. “Obviously, excited to be where we’re at, but even more excited to see where this thing could go, man. We got a hell of a team that’s playing f—ing well together.”
